In the New Testament, the word deacon is used to describe those who are ministering and serving to help strengthen the church. Our deacons pray diligently for those in their care groups and contact them regularly, and help them out in many ways. Deacon Groups change about once per year.
The Friends Needing Friends ministry was originally designed to help widows connect with each other; it now has grown to include ladies who live alone and some who live in very difficult circumstances and need some extra support. They meet every other week for meals, games, and occasionally short day trips.
The J.O.Y. Group
This is a relationship building fellowship ministry for those 50 or better. The members of the JOY Group are seniors (50+) who call themselves Just Older Youth and they frequently get together at various restaurants to eat lunch, enjoy spending time together, and encouraging each other.
